The Catalyst:
In my opinion this is a very well made thriller it creates a lot of suspense and mystery with the killer who takes out what appears to be some sort of deal going down between two men, the man who escapes runs of to his getaway vehicle but finds that his driver is dead, it is then that we see the killer strangle the man and then tells a kid in the backseat to "shhhh" he then gets out of the car and picks up whatever the item was for the deal. i think that the filming of this has been taken into consideration a lot, my only issue is that the killer goes from a house in a town to out in a park in a manner of seconds, i think this is a big issue with continuity.
Power Cut:
This thriller on the other hand is not as good, it is unclear as to what exactly is happening and the only clue we get is the title :power cut, due to it being in black and white, we cannot really see the lights go off or a change in light levels, the filming is also rather shaky, another issue is the rise-en-scene, we can see it is in a school and this ruins the entire feel, it looks as though they should be in an office.
Hunter: this thriller has clearly been filmed in a school however it takes advantage of that by purposely acknowledging it and seeing the characters in it, for example we see the "detective" and the "teacher" this works very well as they have used miss-en-scen to correctly portray their parts, the decretive is wearing a trench coat and carries a note book, whilst the teacher is wearing usual PE gear and uses a baseball bat to knock out or kill the detective, the camera work and editing is also very professional.
